Winter for every Russian person is associated withNew Year's holidays, a Christmas tree, frosts and fun in the open air, most of which are somehow connected with snow. Children, and many adults like to ride from snow slides, play snowballs and, of course, to sculpt snowmen.
About how to dazzle a snowman-fat man with a bucket onhead and nose-carrot, probably every child knows, but in addition to such a classic snowman from the snow, you can do many other very interesting things.
What to make of snow: interesting ideas
Snow can be made of snow; figures of people, animals and fairy-tale characters; castles, houses, fortresses and labyrinths.
All snow slides are erected on a single principle. To create a hill, you first need to collect a very large pile of snow. Its height depends on who this hill is for - for the youngest children it is necessary to make a hill low (1.5-2 meters), for teenagers it can be made higher. Width of the slidedepends on your desire, but do not do it already one meter. When a pile of snow is collected at the right place, the slopes of the hill begin to form.
In the profile, the slide should look likean inverted trapezium - on a short slope, in the future, the steps necessary for climbing a hill are cut down, a long ramp is intended for riding, and on top a flat platform is built on which it will be possible to stand. The lateral edges of the site and the descent must necessarily be protected by snow curbs. Further design of the slide depends on your imagination, for example, in the corners, the top platform can be decorated with turrets, and above the descent to build a snow arch. More details on the construction of snow slides are described in our article How to make a slide.
The first thing that immediately comes to mind when speakingit's about snow sculptures, it's, of course, a snowman. The technology of making a snowman is quite simple - from the sticky wet snow you have to roll three comas, one more than the other. Then the biggest lumpit is necessary to put on the chosen place, on itput a smaller clod, and on top to pile the third, the smallest clod of snow. That, strictly speaking, everything - the base of the snowman is ready, then the most interesting begins. In order for the snowman to "come to life" and acquire his own character, it is necessary to create a face for him - to draw a friendly smile or vice versa, a crooked grin, make a nose out of a cone or a carrot and eyes from buttons or embers. Then the snowman needs a little dressing and decorating, for these purposes you can use old mittens, scarf and cap, large buttons, spruce branches, clusters of mountain ash, bumps and acorns.
Similarly, it can be made from snow andother simple sculptures, for example, a hedgehog, a tortoise or a ladybug, the basis for which will be one big snowball, or a centipede caterpillar made up of a dozen small balls molded from snow.
Complex high sculptures - Snow Maiden, Santa Claus, garden gnome, etc.characters do it differently. In order for them to stand steadily and do not break up into pieces, they mold them on the frame: first they knock down the skeleton from the wooden blocks and pile it into the ground. Then the frame is stuck on all sides with snow, trying to give it the contours of the future sculpture. After the overall shape of the figure has been created, a large knife, spatula or trowel cuts off excess snow and works out fine details - facial features, hair and character clothes. Buildings from snow
Castles and fortresses of snow can be the mostdifferent. You can build a very small doll's snow castle in the height of the waist and decorate it with numerous intricate turrets and arches, and if you have the strength and patience, you can build a snow fortress in which children can play - everything depends on your imagination and diligence.
