The story of the traveler's dog and his man
Meet Loki - a two-year half-wolf half-wolf from Denver!
Loki - a cross between a husky, an Arctic wolf and an Alaskan malamute!
Loki and "his man" - Kelly Lund, adore the epic foot adventures
Lund is a professional traveler in the wild and, as he himself says: "A staunch supporter of the intrinsic value of adventure and checking oneself for steadfastness."
"We travel simply because we like it," he says, "and Loki is more than me."
Loki started climbing the mountains when he was only 4 months old. Now he is not yet 3 years old, but he has already seen almost all the peaks in the west of the USA.
The owner sometimes releases Loki to freedom, and then finds it using a GPS locator attached to his collar.
"My goal is to see as much in the world as I can with my dog, and keep so many memories with him and the people I love, as much as possible."
Loki is more a dog than a wolf, but taking care of him and educating him is not easy.
"The cross between a wolf and a dog requires tremendous effort insocialization and long and hard work in education. Many people simply do not have time for this ... A huge number of these dogs need "adoption" simply because people take them and leave them at home, and it ends up because they are forced to get rid of their pets, because they simply did not understand that they get involved ... ", says Lund.
