The future section of the railway bypassing Ukraine will pass through the territory of the Voronezh region. The cost of the work will be about two tens of billions of Russian rubles. Information about this was provided by Aleksey Gordeyev, the head of the region, who visited the Kantemirovsky District last week. Hand over the object is calculated in the third quarter of next year.
The beginning of the construction work was marked by the solemn ceremony of laying the first rails and sleepers of the new way. On this day, April 20, Ruslan Tsalikov (First Deputy Minister of Defense) and Dmitry Bulgakov (Deputy Minister of Defense) were present at the start of the works.The officials used bolts to bolt the joints of the two links of the railway track. Currently, the first kilometer of the future road is being laid in the Kantemirovsky district.
The plan to build a new railway line was adopted two years ago, in 2014. A year later, at the end of June 2015, the Ministry of Defense of our country and the state-owned company “Russian Railways” signed an agreement on the creation of a two-track electrified railway, the length of which will be about 122.5 kilometers. The new railway will connect the Voronezh region with the Rostov region. From the Russian-Ukrainian border the path will be at a distance of from five to twenty-five kilometers.
