State Unitary Enterprise Moscow Metro announces the launch of a tender for the reconstruction of the lobbies at 13 metro stations. A project to improve underground pedestrian crossings is also under development.
The reconstruction project will be held in the lobbies of such metro stations as River Station, Victory Park, Business Center, Annino and Lyublino, as well as Varshavskaya, Novogireevo, Marino. stations Kozhukhovskaya, Vystavochnaya, Chkalovskaya, Kakhovskaya and Lesoparkovaya. The project includes the reconstruction of walls, ceilings, stairs and other elements of the stations.
According to the head of the Moscow metro, Dmitry Pegov, the safety of passengers using the metro is in sight.In addition to repairing the stations' lobbies, a competition has also been announced for the purchase of new cargo equipment, which will increase the speed of response in all emergency situations.
The deadline for submitting an application is announced before November 6 of this year, as for the results of the tender, they will be announced on November 14, 2014. The reconstruction itself should be completed at the end of February 2015.
Representatives of the Moscow Metro also report that improvement will have no effect on passengers, since it is not planned to close the stations for the duration of the works, only certain zones will be under repair. As for the landings and underground passages, they are planned to be partially enclosed as the renovation proceeds, providing a safe area for passengers.
