How to connect the RCD correctly?

In order to protect a person in everyday life frompossible consequences of electric shock, a special device was invented. It is called an RCD - a protective shutdown device. The RCD cuts off the electrical network when the differential currents are exceeded. The essence of the device is that it works in such cases as touching a person to live parts, leakage of current to the body or to the ground.
Consider how to properly connect the RCD. The first step is to select an RCD for technical specifications. The rated current of the RCD must not be lower than the threshold of the operating current of the input circuit-breaker. Also, the RCD has such a parameter as leakage current. To correctly choose the leakage current, it is worth to evaluate some factors. If you are using an RCD with an old wiring, the leakage current should be selected more. If many devices are used in the network, the leakage current should also be selected more.
We fix the RCD to the DIN rail. In the chain, the RCD is placed after the meter so that the whole network is protected. It is also possible to put the RCD on separate circuits, but this is not a big necessity. From the meter in the RCD must enter both wires. From the RCD, the negative wire is routed to the zero bus, and the positive wire to the automatic switches.
