Is it only drowsiness that results from lack of sleep? Let's see.

Do you often pay attention to your emotional, mental state? When you feel tired or cheerful, drowsy and apathetic or, on the contrary, you feel emotional. Thought of what this condition may depend on?

 

Causes of fatigue
 

Perhaps you think on how well you slept. And theoretically this is true. Theoretically, to feel vigorous and full of energy you need to eat right and sleep well, because we get energy from food, and during sleep the body is restored.
Does the state only depend on it? Have you noticed that this does not always work?
How many times have you had periods when you slept enough and ate enough, and often, or constantly, felt overwhelmed and tired, constantly drowsy, and despite the fact that you objectively slept enough, considered , what tiredness and weakness do you get from lack of sleep? There were such periods?
And there were those, when you, having slept twice less than the norm, for about 3-4 hours, did heavy physical or intellectual work and at the same time felt excellent, full, or even overflowed with energy? I am sure such were.
My opinion on this.
The states of drowsiness or vigor and activity depend less on how much you slept, and more on what situation you are in, what you are doing at a particular moment, and on events that happened before. Come in order.
When you are in a pleasant situation, in a pleasant environment, you do not feel sleepy. When you come to the first couple in the university, you can get enough sleep every day during the week before, you get up awake, go for a couple and after half an hour you start falling asleep, and you can’t do anything with it, because you don’t care, you don’t involved in it. You look at your watch, you see that there are 5 minutes left, and you immediately feel better, more cheerful, because what you are not interested in will soon end. And already at the break, in communication with friends, there was no trace of sleepiness left.
When you are engaged in something that you are passionate about, then no drowsiness appears, even though you have not slept much and may not have eaten at all.And no matter what it is, playing sports or playing on a computer.
Or remember, when you felt as broken as possible and one good news could quickly lead to a tone, and drowsiness immediately receded. Or if something unexpectedly good happened, or just a passer-by smiled at you, you feel better.
In my opinion, it works like this.
When you are in an inconvenient situation for yourself, when you feel uncomfortable in some environment, the brain begins to dull the mind, causing drowsiness to nullify the feeling of awkwardness and uncomfortableness, this causes a delay between the event and the reaction to this event. , and to a certain extent, the understanding of what is happening around is lost, the look becomes as if absent, in which case the reaction to the event cannot be free, it is literally forced out. The feeling of not being comfortable does not disappear, it may become less intense, but it does not disappear.
Naturally, drowsiness may appear just out of boredom.
In this case, when you are either in an uncomfortable situation for yourself, or in a boring situation, you start to abstract from it,By focusing on your thoughts, and on waiting for when it will all end, and while you are slaughtering what is happening, and looking forward to the end of this situation, you are letting it out of control.
For example, when you take the exam, and you hear a few additional questions from the teacher that you cannot answer, suddenly you start to feel uncomfortable, and if you are asked a couple more such questions, you don't care what you get for the exam, you stop responding adequately to what is happening, you become apathetic and passive in such a situation.
And later, after you come to your senses again, you may regret having missed the situation. Of course, we are not talking about the need to get what you want by any means. But you will understand that you have not done everything, you could have done more, but did not strain yourself, precisely because you, out of a sense of not comfort, stopped perceiving what was happening, focusing on the fact that it would end soon.
Therefore, being in such situations, you need to try to focus precisely on what is happening, suppressing drowsiness by an effort of will.And it is very difficult, as difficult as to wake up early in the morning, with the well-established regime of lifting after dinner. For this you need a tremendous effort. But it is possible. This will not work right away. In fact, this thing - to experience drowsiness in certain situations - this is just a habit, but this habit can be replaced by another, you can get rid of it.
Naturally, healthy sleep is always good, and they do not need to be neglected, naturally, if you constantly lack enough sleep for a long time, you will be almost always sleepy, I just wanted to say that drowsiness occurs not only from lack of sleep, it is more degree of habit of reacting to circumstances in a certain way.
